We started helping each other with gardening and canning projects so we could spend time together and have a lot of fun making nutritious, homemade canned goods. Because we have enjoyed ourselves, we have expanded and improved our canning projects, including recipes so we can use our delicious, organic canned goods. How fulfilling it is to be asked, “Hey, Grandma, Do you have any more of those canned pickles? They are so good and crunchy.” “Mom, could I have another jar of tomato juice (or jar of stewed tomatoes)? It makes my soup and spagetti sauce recipes taste so much better than regular store canned tomatoes.” Since our children and our grandchildren are thrilled and eager to eat and share our wonderful homemade products, we have heard ourselves saying to them, ” It is not hard, here is what ya do.” Thus, our commitment to sharing, not only with our children, families and friends, but also to help others not feel intimidated by making healthy, homemade and mouth-watering, organic foods and beverages, experiencing the pride in preparing food “from scratch” for their families.
